It's pretty crazy to think that I am actually living in Puerto Rico. In fact, I'm not sure if it has really sunk in. Because here, everything feels like I'm on a vacation. There is a pool in my backyard and we go swimming practically everyday. Every meal is eaten outside on the patio and there is a whole lot of chillin'. But not literally, because it's hot and extremely humid, there is some nonstop sweating going on. We leave the windows open all day long and it rains almost every day here and there. I would definitely say I am "living the dream."
So I decided to start this blog not really by my choice but by popular demand, so I expect those who asked me about a blog or requested it, you better be following it. That's right! And I am excited to follow your's ( I don't even know if following is the correct term in the blog world but hey it works for pinterest and instagram.)
I haven't even been living here a week and I am absolutely loving it. Life is great (well except that one time I got fried on the beach- Sunscreen did nothing to save me that day, even though I applied it several times...) Nevertheless, it was fun playing in the water and building sand castles on the beach.
This whole adventure started with flying here first class, which was pretty amazing! Never have done that before! Then unpacked my three suitcases which I had crammed my life and necessities into. Then right away made myself at home. It wasn't hard at all, I love the Burtons. In fact, the kids already decided that I am just one of them and they think it is funny (and weird a little) that I act like them and play hide and go seek with them but I'm their mom's best friend. See what I mean, living the dream. I'm okay being a grown-up and a kid all at the same time! For the Fourth of July we went to the beach and swam, built a sand castle, swam, tried to boogie board, had a picnic, swam, got bit by ocean spiders (or at least that is what we believe), jumped some waves, gotten taken out by some waves and then came back home completely exhausted and ready for bed. So the Puerto Ricans celebrate the Fourth of July, they just don't do any fireworks so we sat out on the back patio and watched a firework show on YouTube. One of the best I have ever seen! On Friday, after lathering on the Aloe Vera we took a trip to Old San Juan. This place is so beautiful! It's like a little Europe on the edge of the Atlantic Coast. We flew some kites, walked around a very awesome and old cemetery, had a picnic (everyday is a picnic!), checked out the fort of El Morro, chased away some creepy cats and then got some snow cones.
There's really not a care in the world. Just enjoying everything! More than ever before I'm kind of just doing "whatever I feel like!"
The Burtons ARE awesome....
